Actress China Anne McClain’s Social Media Suggests That She Is Christian
On December 23, 2023, China Anne McClain posted a photo on her Instagram handle saying,
hello all, it’s been a while 🌸 i’m so excited for Christmas!
The post suggests that China is a follower of Jesus Christ. Some of the sources have also claimed that she is a devout Christian.
Once, McClain stated that one of her favorite hobbies is attending church with her family, so fans assumed she was pretty devout.
In addition, her breakout role performance was a church choir in The Gospel, a move that adapted the biblical story of the prodigal son to a modern context.
One source has claimed that China has been open about her Christian faith, often posting bible verses on her social media handles. Moreover, McClain and her family hold African-American ethnicity.
Earlier on March 30, 2021, China responded with a video to a TikTok video posted by Lil Nax X in which he posed in front of the Satan lap dance. In the video, McClain said,
“There’s a lot of confusion about the way God is represented by people vs. who he actually is. Comments like the one on top of Lil Nas’ video, they often turn into back and forth conversations about religion, Christians against the g** community or Christians against everyone else. When it’s really not about Christianity or religion at all.”
She added,
“The truth is that God exists. I don’t believe in God because a religion tells me to. I know God. We have a relationship. So when God is represented badly by a Christian or by someone that’s been hurt by a Christian, it really makes me sad because it’s not who he is. That behaviour also drives so many people away from getting to know him. God is loving, he is compassionate, he is kind, he is forgiving.”
In response to China’s video, one Twitter user tweeted,
Am I the only one that hates when people say they 100% “know” God is real? Especially christianity. Its literally based off your faith. I also hate when someone says they 100% “know” God isnt real. The unknown is scary, but neither of you know. No one 100% knows.. and thats OK!”
China then responded to the comment by tweeting,
“there is a difference between believing in God, and knowing God. i just realized this recently. that’s why i’m so different now love. before, i believed in God but i didn’t know Him. but now i do know Him, and i love Him. with all due respect, you can believe that or not.”
Moreover, actress China left the CW show Black Lightning to pursue “God’s Work.” On social media, she said,
“All this is an illusion. It’s an illusion. This industry for what it is and everything people look to and praise, it’s not important,” “God is moving me in more than one way than just this show. It’s bigger than just this show. I’m doing God’s work now and I’m not doing anything else. I’m just gon’ put it plainly.”
McClain continued to say that God called her to move in a different direction. China said that she hopes to share God-honoring projects with people from her community, be a part of the change, and live her life awake.
